WORLD GAMES TEE - COMPETE FOR MORE EPYX SPORTS GREATNESS

Missing the Olympics? Let Seven Squared take you on a journey around the planet with our Epyx’s World Games Officially Licensed Tee.

If you know any one thing about Seven Squared, you’ll know that we are all about the journey.

This can take on many different forms, from your very own personal gaming journey, to a company journey, a videogame development journey, and even a journey around the globe as we see in our latest tee, World Games.

American developer Epyx was always closely associated to the Commodore 64 computer. Formed in the late Seventies as Automated Simulations, before adopting its famous moniker a few years later, Epyx had a tumultuous journey of its own, from the booming success of its sports games in the mid-Eighties until its demise later in the decade. We’ve already shared some of the Epyx love with our California Games, Summer Games and Winter Games tees and hoodies – now we bring you the international flavour of World Games and its fabulously diverse range of challenging events.

World Games Officially Licensed Tee by Seven Squared #KeepingTheGameAlive

In an Olympian spirit of friendly intercontinental rivalry, World Games takes you on a tour of iconic locations from around the world, each with its own travelogue introduction. Stand atop the rocky precipices of Acapulco, Mexico for the dangerous Cliff Diving; take to the piste for high speed Slalom Skiing in the French Alps; or visit the bracing Highlands of Scotland for the Caber Toss, before donning that ten-gallon cowboy hat and heading back to the US of A for some bareback Bull Riding. All of it is accompanied by superb animation, marvellous national anthems and brilliant graphics, and each event, with its own unique control system, is a real pleasure to dip into, even 34 years after the game was first released.

But it’s not just this little virtual jog around the globe that we love about World Games. In the early days of gaming, many of us played on our computers alone. For fans of the Epyx series, its games were the beginning of a social journey, competing against friends or family as they balanced haphazardly on a log in Canada, wrestled Sumo style in Japan or leaped over bulging beer barrels in Germany.

It’s this communal spirit that excites us most at Seven Squared. “Forget everything else,” said Zzap! reviewer Julian Rignall of World Games back in November 1986. “This is the definition of state-of-the-art!” And now you can show off your love and the stylish art of World Games with our brand new tee, out today. Are you ready to continue the journey?

Now enjoy going back in time on the Amiga with World Games in this video... Eeek, the music... #KeepingTheGameAlive

By the way... Thanks to our Guest Writer Graeme Mason... He will be writing a few of our posts for us. Go check him out. He's been on the journey too...
